Here's a working guide to what we stock and how we spec it. ### Carpet underlay grades 10mm or 11mm PU underlay is the residential workhorse, quiet, warm, the right firmness for power-stretching. 9mm or 11mm crumb rubber is the heavy-domestic and stair-rated choice. 8mm sponge rubber is a budget option for landlord refits. Contract underlay (firm, dense, low-profile) is what goes under carpet tiles and broadloom in offices. ### Hard floor underlay 3mm acoustic foam for laminate over timber. Combination underlay with a built-in damp-proof membrane for laminate over concrete or screed. Specialist UFH-rated thin underlay where underfloor heating is in play, too-thick underlay insulates the heat away from the room. ### Grippers and pins Standard 25mm dual-tack grippers for most rooms. Concrete pins for screed sub-floors. Stair-rated angled grippers for proper stair fitting.
